My name is Nomfundo Dlamini.
I am a young South African girl who has always dreamt of travelling the world more than everything. Like every other child, everything that I did was to make my parents proud. Which made me decide to embark on the human science field and study neuropsychology. I was very determined on becoming a brain doctor- a neuropsychologist. Even though I had the passion for it, but it wasn’t entirely what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I’ve always said that after graduation I’d move abroad, even though I had no idea what I’d be doing abroad, but I knew that I wasn’t called to stay in South Africa. I then graduated at twenty-one, worked a few months at a contact centre to raise funds for what seemed like a dream at that time.
At this time, I still couldn’t decide which Asian country I wanted to go to, I had to decide between Japan and South Korea. After doing thorough research, I then finally decided to move to China. Now my journey to China wasn’t an easy one. It was actually one of the worst struggles I’ve faced in my life. From the gathering of documents, to the job applications and interviews with recruiters and agencies, up until the Visa application process, I solely relied on the research that I had conducted independently. I did not know anyone who was already in China, everything that I did was entirely by myself. Even when I had finally managed to move to China, it still wasn’t a smooth journey. It is still my first year in China, however, I have gained so much experience and knowledge that I believe will be very useful to someone who has no knowledge but a dream to move to China. I have created this website to provide you with an A-Z guide of becoming an English teacher and moving to China. Welcome to my Diaries Abroad.
